On the probabilities of order arising from chaos

Many theorists are of the opinion that completely random and isolated systems which are in other words completely chaotic, can actually give rise to systems, which can be said to possess some high level of order. My hypothesis is, that if a system is

a) Completely isolated

b) Purely chaotic…

It cannot give yield to a system, which will show a considerable degree of order.

The reasons are as follows:

At the outset we know that our system is an ISOLATED system. This simply means that we have a system which is not going to get any help or interference from, any other system. Such a system is for example our very own universe, or lets say it could be considered to be our multiverse  as well (which is supposed to consist of many universes but which in totality can be thought of as an individual and isolated system). Let us consider an isolated system S.  This S is now similar to our lone Universe or Multiverse in toto.

If S is an isolated system and it is pure chaotic i.e. there is no semblance of order in this system then let us denote the amount of order in this chaotic system with a big zero. Say O(order) = 0. In any system the quantity of order is difficult to denote. Yet we can say something about the system in terms of an approximate numerical value.

In a Universe which is possessing life and having a stable set of fundamental constants we can say that the occasioned degree of order is high. Say O = say… 0.9o. If the system was initially completely chaotic then it must have had an order value O = 0(zero). According to some the Universe went from an order value 0(zero) to an order value 0.9o(say) without any outside assistance. According to the author it is impossible to

a) Introduce b) and/or increment

the order value by purely random behaviour on behalf of the Universe S, and if order is seen to introduce and increment itself, then it can so happen only by the guiding hand of an outside non chaotic, order implicating agency.

For example in a class room, many children may be making noise, yet if the class teacher is willing to gently guide the class, by the kind effort of the teacher the chaotic situation of the class can improve in the measure of order. Similarly there may be disorder in a country or state, yet by the effort of a governing body it is possible that the region concerned can be more distinguished in the measure of order. Or for that matter there may be disorder in a prison cell but by the effort of a policeman there may resume some measure of order.

Lorentz equations are a set of equations that try to predict the behavior of a chaotic system, yet there is no system of analysis not just in Lorentz set of three equations but in the entire gamut of equations in the galaxy which allows us to enable a completely random system (S) to become more and more ordered by systematic and gradual increment. Please note: a set of equations like those of Lorentz help us analyze a system. They are not motive forces. That is they do not have the power to move matter or energy and augment a reality.

ONE very famous argument is given by Michael Behe, in that he argues that Mount Rushmore can never exhibit the four faces of the American presidents, simply as a result of chance occurence like rain and snow. The miracle of the four faces was worked out by some men who cared to carve out of stone, something for their livelihood.

An isolated system S which is completely chaotic does not get to assume the pride of becoming ordered simply due to chance events. Infact, a game of chance is a puerile act which does not contribute to the world of culture and life. A chance act is something that lacks the potency or the power to manifest something as wonderful as order. Imagine bricks and mortar and iron assembling on their own to yield a very ornate multi storied building. One can claim that given sufficient time a million bricks can assemble to yield a mansion, but suffice it to say that laws of physics have never allowed such things to happen and the very fact that such things are not seen to happen in the real world is good enough proof that such things simply do not happen. One simply has to step into the real world and one will find that behind every mansion that manifests in any part of the world is a contractor or an engineer who has given purpose to the bricks. One will not find automobiles or newspapers or computers or mobiles which have assembled without the help of an engineer or a scientist. Since that is the case in everything, then so it is the case in all cases. The order that we see in this world is essentially the order in the mind of an individual mind or that of a super mind or minds. Any archeological artifact however old, begs or eggs the question… who was the manufacturer…. because just as all mobiles need a manufacturer, so did all pots and pans and coins and weapons and vehicles even in the past.

Another aspect of life that is not too well assessed is that, it is fundamentally difficult to have an absolutely random set of parameters in a physical world resulting in say the seemingly random forces of Nature. As far as the books of the ancients are concerned there is an embodiment of every force of nature and  the very earth itself is a goddess. The Sun is presided by a god known as Surya and Moon is, by another god known as Soma. The oceans are presided over by someone known as Varuna and every river such as the Ganges and the Yamuna in India and as the Mississippi in the U.S and Nile in Egypt, has a presiding deity which does direct the activities of the respective river. Every thorn tree that we can be afraid of is actually a living being trying to extend a twig. Every bitter gourd is basically a plant trying to thrive. Even the mountains are said to be presided by someone. According to Indian science the Himalayas are presided by someone known as Himavan. Parvati (coming from the word parvat implying a mountain) is the daughter of Himavan and the good wife of the formidable Siva. The formidable nature of nature is simply nature attempting to preserve itself and exist rather than not exist, to be , rather than to not be. As conceit and deceit go hand in hand, they do form a part of the Super Mind trying to retrieve what it has given to us but which we have willfully misused.

If nature did allow self assembling mansions or cars or mobiles or scooters, then there must have been many witnesses to such acts…. yet since there is not a single witness to such acts. Such acts must never have occurred. Similarly one can see that there may be, say twenty ingredients stacked on a shelf. Yet any amount of household quarreling and resultant pushing and shoving will NOT result in a single meal coming together as a result of the knocking of the pots and the pans and the cans.  Nature may be hostile, but is never necessarily lifeless. I may be hostile, but not quite dead.

Thus in essence:

1) Nature does not appear to be consisting of exclusively random forces.

2) The order content of Nature is not introduced by chance events, it seems to be the working of a mature mind or minds.

Playing a game, you can never win.....

Okay, so we have a little bit of confusion. A lady member of the Indian parliament has made some undue remarks about the Messiah of Islam. It seems that there has been a world wide outcry because of these remarks and Indian states ( entire states ) have been threatened with suicide bombings by people known as militants.

It seems that the world faces tragedy after tragedy, because people do not harmonize, and organize themselves. There were debates between, the representatives of Islam and those of the Hindus... and the lady in question felt outraged at the way the devas or demigods of Hinduism like Lord Siva or Hanumanji or Sri Ganesh, have been rather inconsiderately described by the representatives of the other side.

The ideas that I am going to present here, have already been presented in various ways. Yet, proud of my own research and impelled with the desire, to have something to say, about this continuing, yet absurd conflagration (not congregation), between people of different religions and lands, I wish to express myself.

There is a confident feeling among the representatives of Islam that the devas or the demigods of the Vedas are either nonexistent, or even if they exist, they are very paltry and unworthy of worship.

They feel that Hindus violate the first Commandment of the Judaic faiths where God insists that God alone ought to be worshipped, and other energies should not be equated with God (even if they exist).

Impelled by their faith and some confusion they make lewd or rude statements about they whom the Hindus consider venerable.

So, some time consuming, yet world healing considerations.

Praising of angels (in Islam) is similar to worship of the devatas (in Hinduism):

I am going to quote from the following website. Please look it up for it is very informative.

https://zamzam.com/blog/seven-levels-of-heaven/

…scholars suggest that there are majorly seven levels of heaven in Islam. Muslims believe that an individual will enjoy the blessings and benefits of any level of heaven depending upon their deeds on earth. Each of the seven levels of heaven in Islam has a degree or grade according to which each soul is given a place. The righteousness of one’s deeds decides the level of heaven where one will reside after death.

The names of the heavens in islam are

1) Jannat al Adan,

2) Jannat al Firdaws,

3) Jannat-ul-Mawa,

4) Jannat-an-Naim,

5) Dar al-maqama,

6) Dar al-salam, and

7) Dar al-Akhirah.

Now as we go along we will be asking some conscious questions. If the reader is a Muslim, do you even know that these seven heavens exist as far as the Quran and other revealations are concerned ?

So…..

As you have noticed there are indeed seven heavens in Islam. Now what is heaven like? Are you just a spark doing nothing? No. In heaven there are men and women living a very beautiful and wonderful life. Please take a look:

'And whoever is in awe of standing before their Lord will have two Gardens
... ˹Both will be˺ with lush branches.
... In each ˹Garden˺ will be two flowing springs.
... In each will be two types of every fruit.
... Those ˹believers˺ will recline on furnishings lined with rich brocade. And the fruit of both Gardens will hang within reach.
... In both ˹Gardens˺ will be maidens of modest gaze, who no human or jinn has ever touched before.
... Those ˹maidens˺ will be ˹as elegant˺ as rubies and coral.
... Is there any reward for goodness except goodness?
... And below these two ˹Gardens˺ will be two others.
... Both will be dark green.
... In each will be two gushing springs.
... In both will be fruit, palm trees, and pomegranates.
... In all Gardens will be noble, pleasant mates
...˹They will be˺ maidens [houris] with gorgeous eyes, reserved in pavilions.
.... No human or jinn has ever touched these ˹maidens˺ before.
... All ˹believers˺ will be reclining on green cushions and splendid carpets.
Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny? (Q.55:46-76, Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran)[22]

These verses are from the Quran chapter 55, verses 46 to 76.

There are quite a few other as well…

There will be neither too much heat nor bitter cold; there will be fountains (88:10),

abundant shade from spreading tree branches green with foliage (Q.53:14-16, also 36:56–57).[24]

They will be passed a cup (Q88:10–16) full of wine "which leads to no idle talk or sinfulness"(52:23), and every meat (52:22) and trees from which an unceasing supply of fruits grow (Q36:56–57),[20]: 58  "that looks similar ˹but tastes different˺"

(Q2:25) adornment with golden and pearl bracelets (Q35:33) and green garments of fine silk and brocade (Q18:31); attended upon by [ghulman] (Q52:24), servant-boys (eternal youths (56:17, 74:19)) like spotless pearls (Q52:24).

While the Quran never mentions God being in the Garden, the faithful are promised the opportunity to gaze upon His face, something the inhabitants of the Fire will be deprived of.[11]

The following is from the Encyclopaedia of Islam…..

One day in paradise is considered equal to a thousand years on earth. Palaces are made from bricks of gold, silver, pearls, among other things. Traditions also note the presence of horses and camels of "dazzling whiteness", along with other creatures. Large trees whose shades are ever deepening, mountains made of musk, between which rivers flow in valleys of pearl and ruby.

So, heaven in Islam is very much active.... There are men and women, and animals and jewels, and beddings and fruits etc. Now JUST as on earth we need some kind of organization to help us procure things..., similar organization is needed in heaven, albeit of a far more exquisite type. It is true that there is an unlimited supply of anything… yet that is a preliminary understanding if you feel that it is all enjoined without the help of Allah’s servants. Allah is assisted in his works by his assistants who try to take care of the citizens in different ways. Here is a website that the reader can enjoy…

https://islamonline.net/en/angels-in-islam-creatures-of-light-2

A whole lot of things are there about the angels of Islam and how they help Allah in the various works of creation. There is someone who takes care of embryos, someone responsible for rain, someone for writing down the activities that people have been doing, someone for watching over people…. In fact, every individual has some angel watching over him.

Now these angels have (as you have noticed) designations and also names like Jibril, Mika’il, Izra’il, Israfil, Munkar and Nakir (check the following website…

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/z43pfcw/revision/3#:~:text=Muslims%20believe%20that%20angels%2C%20or,messages%20from%20Allah%20to%20humanity)

SIMILARLY, those personalities who assist God and who reside in the heavens are known by the Hindus as ‘devata’. For example, Mahadeva is so called because he is ‘Maha’ or great and ‘deva’ or a devata. Thus, a great deva, is called Mahadev. Similarly Ganesh simply means “gana” or people, and “ishah” or leader…. ie: a leader of the people is called Ganesh. Agnidev means the demigod controlling Fire. Pavandeva is the god of Wind. Varundeva is the god of the Waters.

Just as the Muslims are supposed to pay respects to their angels the Hindus are also supposed to pay respects to those known as devas because each religion owes its debts to their keepers, just as in any social system we are supposed to honour responsible law enforcement and desire fulfilling officials…

Are graven images forbidden… ?

Now we come to the statement about not having graven (carved) images before Allah.

Hinduism is also a monotheistic faith and they refer to the omnipotent God as Vishnu or Narayana. So Hindus are supposed to be worshipping Vishnu as the central Deity and the devas are worshipped as attendants to the Almighty God.

What was probably happening when the Messiah received the message of God is that the people he was around, were worshipping

a) Not the one all powerful God.

b) Energies who were not really the wonders that angels are (for they don’t take you away from Allah), but who were rather sinister or tending to be quite evil.

So Allah may not like worshipping an untrue and inferior energy INSTEAD of Him, yet if we glorify the Messiah or maybe Gabriel within the process of glorifying Allah, most probably He just wouldn’t mind. Unless you are really pessimistic in the fear that Allah is a God of hate, the author feels that Allah is well pleased to have his assistants or attendants praised, even in front of Him. Only a very cruel king will want only himself to be praised, although a noble king would look forward to his courtiers and ministers and family members being honored as well.

Polytheism as an error

Now on the other hand there is a pressing problem about something known as polytheism in certain practitioners of the Hindu religion. These unregulated people assert that there can be more than one, independent and all powerful God. Although the Supreme Lord and His attendants are differentially glorified, people do not read these descriptions carefully, and assume that anyone glorified by the Vedic hymns have been assigned the position of the principal Deity. Or at least there are more than one principal Deity who are, all powerful or all mighty.

Can we have more than one All Powerful God? This is a logical inconsistency that does NOT make complete sense. Let us say that there are four different independent Deities who are all God. Now say a man A is to take a walk. Each different Deity desires the man to walk in a different direction. One says go East, One says go West, One says go North and the last One says to go South.

Now the man will have to walk in one direction only, ultimately…. So if four INFINITE forces pull the man in four DIFFERENT directions where will the man end up? He will not be able to walk at all, despite the four ‘GODS’ having willed him to do otherwise. Thus we end up with another Causal Force (resulting in no motion), which accommodates or allows to happen that which none of the four different independent OMNIPOTENT Deities could. Can you imagine…. four different COMPLETELY infinite OMNIPOTENT forces which ultimately don’t give any result.

GOD is He who cannot be violated

I’ll rephrase what I am saying. All the four independent Gods were suggesting a particular direction for the man to move in. Now God Almighty implies someone whose will is INVIOLABLE. Violating God’s will is something that just does not happen… because God IS everything… the cause, the effect, the inside the outside, and there is no other outside agency who can do anything to intervene,…… because God by definition IS everything. You cannot have four different ‘everythings’. In the mathematical world you ‘can’ add infinity + infinity = infinity. But in the real world ‘infinity’ means everything…. Simply everything…. Every single force or energy or matter or any evolute of these is included. Thus there is no scope for another ‘infinity’.

Here, a mathematical argument can be given that in a multidimensional space or space-time you can have infinities in different dimensions. For example one infinity in the x-dimention, another in the y-dimension, another in the z-dimension, and the list goes on as the supposed number of dimensions go on increasing. So the argument may be given, that, for inifinite number of dimensions, we CAN have infinite number of Causal Forces. However… God implies everything and thus instead of having an independent God for every dimension it is far more logical to say that the one God is infinitely expansive in, every single dimension.

Lets try again…. Godx will decide activities in the x-dimension. Gody in the y-dimension. And so on. Yet God by definition is someone Who decides everything in every dimension. There is one Existence Which ALONE decides everything everywhere. For example Agnideva controls Fire and Pavandeva controls the Wind and Suryadeva controls the Sun…. yet these energies are all acting under the active control of the Supreme Lord Narayana. This ideal has been expressed in the Vedas and the Upanishads and also the Puranas….in fact any Vedic literature is thus indicative although you have to read the whole literature impartially.

There is no other ideological possibility… and thus MONOTHEISM is inevitable and consummately so….:)

Impersonal ideologies contradicting Monotheistic ideals.

Now, even if we accept a Cause that is the cause of everything, there is yet another dilemma posed by many a Vedic scholar, as to whether the ultimate cause is a Sentient Being or Just an Energy. Many presentations by famous or rather very famous devotee scholars of Vedic discretion have been made and I will not go into too much detail. Yet this might just be another way in which our Muslim brothers might feel left out.

God has personality

A God who has no personality is very different from a God who is just an energy. All monotheistic religions put faith in a personal God. Yet many Vedic scholars aver prominently that in the ultimate sense existence is just so impersonal. Even the scholars of impersonal pedigree accept that this creation is just a manifestation of the Supreme impersonal energy. So… the creation with all its varieties which is fine tuned, so precisely, to sustain life of extraordinary varieties, comes (supposedly) from something, that is not having any awareness… is just a universal machine. Is that it…. ? Thus volition sustained by ideals such as favoring benevolence over malevolence (for example)…, being intricate about the minutest of details…(etc….), to assert a world that makes more sense than nonsense (heh heh hey), being the cause of unlimited personalities each of a different kind and so on… seem to be the traits of this Supreme Being. A Being professing compassion and intelligence and plentifulness… the All that be… is not just an existence…which lacks cognizance or awareness…

Here many people feel alarmed at the possibility of an all powerful cognizant Being Who can do almost anything, whether right or wrong……. Someone like Thor or Zeus who thunderbolt the needy and so on. However the synthesis can be that the Supreme Being can have a personality… albeit a PERFECT one. The cognizance of the Supreme Being is not affected by desire or hate. It is one which delights in perfect love. This love is not conditioned by good or evil. It is unconditional and universal. Thus it is possible for God to be perfect and be in love or rather possess a personality.

There are other causes of disharmony among religions, and they will be discussed in a later sequel (if the author lives).

Waiting To Die

Uh-huh. Soooo...... The socio-religious, cultural, metaphysical, and erudite elite have brought us to, yet another frontier..., another chance in life..., another hope…. a third world war. Somehow, it seems that all our exultations  and delights obtained through red meat, sports, education, movies, music..., the progress of industrialization..., the internet, sex (hmm…), and yes.... even religion, leaves us with the exclusive superhumans of the world craning to get a shot at each other..., and send, each one of us.... either to heaven or hell, as the case may be..., after bringing about world wide annihilation. I mean to say... this is what progress in pure sciences like physics, chemistry, etc... and the applied sciences like technology... in the form of computers, communication, genetics..., the wonderful relationships we have with each other.... and hey even astrology and..., (kisses) the gold rush, has led us to embrace or at least come face to face with.

The question arises… WHY ? Are we all so eager to die? What is troubling us so much? Fear, pain, humiliation, overwork … what is making us so ballistic towards each other. Why does the word PEACE..., based on mutual tolerance, seem so difficult to come to terms with? Why are things the way they seem to be?

The situation is as follows… Soviet Russia had disintegrated to an acknowledged extent, three decades ago. Those land masses which were part of the USSR, yet which refused to obey Soviet command..., got their own government. Although the cold war officially ended there and then, the impetus for rivalry between Russia and, the rest of Europe and the United States combined, continued. Many of the newly formed nations became sympathetic to the rest of, Europe and the U.S..... Quite a few joined the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation), and rapidly the U.S and their affiliates, commenced deploying troops in these nations....., and threatened the Russian borders. Tired of such formations..., the Russians decided to station their own forces, at the Ukrainian-Russian border. I mean..., if you are banging on my door mighty impolitely, I just might greet you with some conceit of my own. That is human nature, that is ethics. I mean if you are stealthily positioning yourself, with your friends, just outside my door.... with guns and knives…, bracing yourself against the wall, crouching for cover, keeping food and water handy…, it just could be, that you have some malefic purposes at heart. Which intelligent owner of a property would be so fool hardy as to not feel threatened? So obviously, the Russian senate felt threatened. Now the U.S. is saying that Russia is planning to attack Ukraine right now..., and if it does, it hopes that thirty NATO nations including the U.S. should reply, very powerfully, to the Russian threat.

So where does that bring us? Again…, the end result of the cold war..., a third world war. All the good work that had been done, which gave peaceful living a chance, is again being threatened. Soviet Russia was oppressive somewhat, according to many a thoughtful mind. Its ex leaders Michael Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin acknowledged the need for a less oppressive government, and on their own, they set the ball rolling, to make Russia a nation ruled more modestly, or compassionately. However..., international paranoia has led to this lack of understanding as to where we stand…..

So where do we stand?

After the second world war the world reduced its pusillanimous impetus and decided to make love not war. However, another situation developed (The Cold War)... whereby, the hostility was not directly engaged in, but was something that was stealthily being nurtured, in unforeseen ways. The day that war broke lose, the world would be unable to head for cover, and every man woman and child would be threatened, irrespective of ideological differences. That gave rise to the hippie movement, because the people understood that their leaders were so crazy (despite their shangrilas, huge cars, home theatre etc) that they were only oh so keen to blow each other to pieces. Compromise, cooperation and care were far less important than COMPETITION.

While competition is healthy for progress, it should obviously not doom one’s future…. In as much as, if I don’t get to try again and again and again, because the time axis halts for me..., then why should I aspire to that form of 'competitive' behavior? Of course fortune favors the brave..., but not the mad and the stupid.

The author recommends the readers attention towards the following weblink…

https://www.cairn.info/revue-politique-etrangere-2009-5-page-107.htm

Here one will be able to see, how the nuclear arms build up, occupation of territories, deployment of warheads and troops along the borders..., again and again, threw the world into a crisis..., and how treaty after treaty helped to resolve the situation. Generally it is thought that Russia was the aggressor throughout the Cold War…., yet this web page seems to put additional information on the table, that seems to suggest that it was highly unlikely..., that it was, that one sided after all. You will get to see, that....  after the perestroika, or the collapse of the USSR, the West again and again marginalized the intentions of peaceful living with the hope of gaining an ever increasing geopolitical advantage.

Do we have anything to feel happy about since WW II?

Obviously…. We have voice command consoles instead of switches and dials. Every single branch of science has made progress…, in fact everything progressed, if it survived….. even the rights to male homosexuality. I talked about voice command consoles, actually we have voice command cars, washing machines, microwaves... then... semi automatic aeroplanes etc. . The whole human genome has been mapped. We have prevention and cures for AIDS, Cancer and so on. We have lab grown meat…, even vegan meat.

Things like the iPhone, Facebook, bitcoin, electric vehicles, solar energy, are quite commonplace. People have better food, and education, and health, and incomes also.

Dealing now more, with the humane energy.... We do have a world which is more tender-hearted than before. Vegan or vegetarian diets are becoming more popular. Animal rights activists are more confident. Environmentalists are credited with doing a lot of benefit. Human rights are more widely endorsed. As you would expect..., spirituality and/or religion, takes a lot of credit, for guiding the human heart along with the head. There is so much literature on the nature of the human mind and the body, and how they interact. There are alternative cures to problems in the mind-body complex (accompanying western medicine), such as Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, Yoga, Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, Naturopathy etc. The cures of alternative medicines are no longer quaint claims but empirically validated facts. Ideas about God, the soul, heaven etc. are far more elaborately and sensibly presented.

We are able to have better sex. Better sports. Better houses. Better clothes, watches, cars, trains, rockets. Many more books have been written and the list of subjects have also expanded. Darwin did not lose…, the fittest have survived..., and gone on to help the weaker sections of society. Thus life is better in many many many ways.

Yet we are on the brink of another world war… hey …. the biggest war yet…. Despite the hope that underground bunkers give to the fortunate, why have people become so unhappy with life, that they cannot endure the other person. Is it the good fighting against evil, or is it just basic rivalry, or both?

It can be argued that the good people, are those who believe in an almighty God..., and Soviet Russia had been guilty of being guided by a philosophy which was intolerant towards religion. Yet they preserved (along with the people’s republic of China) many of the ethics of religion such as a control over prostitution, homosexuality and narcotics........, whereas the liberal economies allowed these SINs to flourish. The parish would not reprimand you for your sin, but the police could pick you up for a crime.

One reason, that the author distinctly feels, is the reason for escalation of tension of this kind, is the constant sense of injury or humiliation owing to the fact that Russia has the biggest expanse of land in the whole civilized world. Thus the sense of prestige, that goes with ruling such a land mass, or.... of the people who are so well united under one flag..., is somehow becoming unendurable. However we forget that in a class of students, someone has to come first, and someone second, and someone third and so on. Can all nations have equal amount of possession over land? Is all land of the same nature? Will I rule over glaciers or deserts while you rule over springs? If that is not likely to be the case in the near future, then why should we pull down a nation’s geographical privilege, only to lessen our internal discomfiture... over something quite trivial.

… to know more about the Hydrogen bomb which had been tested way back in 1954…

...DO WE KNOW WHAT’S BEEN COOKING SINCE THEN????

Is it not possible that the same courage, determination, resignation and hope, that we are helping each other with…, with the desire to expel the enemy..., or die in the process…, can we not use all this and more, to arrive at a practical answer, to any concern, which will avoid the occurrence of a third world war, a war which could wipe out the entire human race (except for they who would be hiding in bunkers) ? Some may think they are Slavs and cannot possibly make friends with Anglo Saxons, who again feel that Celts are unendurable and so on. But can we not ascertain our domains of existence, and work aggressively..., yet intelligently and progressively also? Is it that difficult a word... ‘COEXISTENCE’. What if the world becomes full of homosexuals… well God did nuke Sodom and Gomorrah… of course in His own style. There are still, plenty of normal people protected by their faith and a concerned government. By the will of providence we all have, or can have, enough to keep us happy all our lives…. But we have to be willing to live and let others live. We have a lot to gain if we just be less ‘FIGHTY’.

Treaty after treaty has been signed in the past, to let the world live for a few years more. Can we please try something similar? If we we have our feet on the ground and our heads on our shoulders, we might be able to work out a plan that benefits one and all, in astounding ways. Someone out there said that if we heal others, we heal ourselves.  If we feel weakened due to pain that needs some healing, one can take a massage, or one can go to the spa, or do some praying, or meditation, or breathing, or play some games, or sing, or even dance. Maybe one can take a holiday and do everything. If we work everything out, then needless violence may never be necessary. Redemption should never be heedless and the world could always be blessed with another chance.

War of Worth?

A War of Worth?

So nothing is new. We just seem to have another regional war… at least loon(m)ing up between China and India which could well escalate to another world war. What do we hope to gain from such conflicts?

There is a very sensible commentary about the India Chinese conflict on the net. Read it at the following web link:

https://www.ndtv.com/opinion/for-modi-china-clash-is-his-biggest-challenge-as-pm-2247574

Here are two paragraphs from the article:

But the moot question is, can or should India be more aggressive? The pragmatic answer is a big "No" for two reasons. Firstly, China has very carefully chosen the timing of its operation. It has entered Indian territory when India is under lockdown due to the Coronavirus and is dealing with a battered economy. While China has also suffered, there are forecasts that it could be the only major economy that does not face negative growth.

Secondly, if China's defense spending is 261 billion dollars, then India's is only 71 billion dollars. Since 2000, China has been working on the plan to make its army the most powerful in the world by 2049. Chinese president Xi Jinping in May asked the military to "scale up the battle preparedness, visualising the worst-case scenario."

So… hey we are finally far more religious than we used to be. The Indians are taking pride in their heritage and culture and history and thus we ought to be helped by the gods in whatever endeavor we may want to make. So if we think of challenging a very big economy like that of China we need not worry. This reminds of several people who actually thought that God will help them in all the murder, fraud and other misdemeanors that the mind, very ingeniously suggests. Then God put them in a cell for years. The list is long.

Uh holy one why do you complain so?

In other words why do I claim that war efforts are not well thought out? Well that is always the case… Lets take a classic example… Why was world war 2 fought? For that matter why is there any war fought?

Hey….. this war (if it is fought) will not be an embodiment of religious search or insight. So world war two or 2 or || was fought because England was the neighbor of Germany and the former kept saying that the sun does not set on the British Empire. Germany wasn’t small and they also wanted a say in the way the world economy establishes itself. They wanted to sell German nuts and bolts and other things of daily use all over the world and England would have nothing of that because the sun was always shining. So Germany along with a few other similar irritated guides went out of its way to run England down. Another interesting fact, the US spent 4 trillion dollars and 400,000 of its soldiers to defeat Nazi Germany.

Pious one that is just one war. Do you have a list?

Yup. Here it is:

1)      The war of 1812 in USA. Money spent: $1.78 billion. Number of deaths…. 15,000. Reason for the bout… The Americans suffered trade as well as military deficits at the hands of the British and they wanted to occupy Canada also.

2)      Another US war… Spanish American war… Fought between the mentioned countries because conflict arose over who will rule places like Cuba, Guan, Puerto Rico etc… The Americans won most of them and arose as a global power. It cost the Americans 10.33 billion dollars and there were only 2446 deaths from American side.

3)      The Spanish Armada was sent to Invade England. This was part of an ongoing war between Spain and England which lasted for nineteen years. Finally Spain and England were willing to not interfere in the workings of Ireland and Netherlands. Also England was supposed to cease privateering on the seas (which is basically, setting up ships and people to be aggressive and loot and then sharing the profits). In the end they just told each other, “ I wont trouble you and you don’t trouble me”. Which…… they could have said earlier….

The list is long. Now we come back to India and China. Let us just try to imagine why China would be aggressive and why India would obviously want to protest. China is a global power and it gives goods to India at a low price. Sometimes the Chinese want more than just booze money which is what we tend to give them. Imagine, Chinese goods after having been imported cost LESS than what indigenous goods or Indian goods cost. Which means they (the Chinese) don’t charge us that much. Now with the rise in nationalistic fervor we declare that we are a looming superpower, better GDP, G7 membership and so on. In other words we hope to bump China and other countries as fast as we can and become equipoised as the leading nation in central Asia. We are also having tentative talks with the United States regarding bolstering of confidence in each other and China feels threatened, because it is on tenterhooks with either of us. So we have a major oriental power whom we are threatening not directly but by implied derision.

So what? So many lives and lots of money is at stake. They will want to bomb Rashtrapathi Bhavan or where arms and ammunition are stored, where people are staying… tall skyscrapers will seem to crumble. All this because we are not being gentle with a proud and powerful neighbor. Now if I have a proud and powerful neighbor I might flout the rules of diplomacy and get by, but if many lives are involved then what should be done.

Bunny, Its funny…. don’t you know that the US senate might just want to help India out?

That is very interesting. The US is at odds with China. It was at odds with India also…. in the past. Now if it propels India to fight China with some legitimate aid, doesn’t that suit the US “senate” oh so well?

And if Pakistan, China and the US combine intelligently to wipe out Indian fortresses of hope and plenty, then Bozo will be so happy because the land of religion will have been lain to waste. Which brings us to the real point. What does religion say about war and how it should be conducted?

Here are a few quotes:

Manu Samhita:

6.47  Let him patiently bear hard words, let him not insult anybody, and let him not become anybody's enemy for the sake of this (perishable) body.

The following are quotes from the 7th chapter of Manu Samhita.

18.Punishment alone governs all created beings, punishment alone protects them, punishment watches over them while they sleep; the wise declare punishment (to be identical with) the law.

19. If (punishment) is properly inflicted after (due) consideration, it makes all people happy; but inflicted without consideration, it destroys everything.

26. They declare that king to be a just inflicter of punishment, who is truthful, who acts after due consideration, who is wise, and who knows (the respective value of) virtue, pleasure, and wealth.

27. A king who properly inflicts (punishment), prospers with respect to (those) three (means of happiness); but he who is voluptuous, partial, and deceitful will be destroyed, even through the (unjust) punishment (which he inflicts).

28. Punishment (possesses) a very bright lustre, and is hard to be administered by men with unimproved minds; it strikes down the king who swerves from his duty, together with his relatives.

29. Next it will afflict his castles, his territories, the whole world together with the movable and immovable (creation), likewise the sages and the gods, who (on the failure of offerings) ascend to the sky.

30. (Punishment) cannot be inflicted justly by one who has no assistant, (nor) by a fool, (nor) by a covetous man, (nor) by one whose mind is unimproved, (nor) by one addicted to sensual pleasures.

31. By him who is pure (and) faithful to his promise, who acts according to the Institutes (of the sacred law), who has good assistants and is wise, punishment can be (justly) inflicted.

44. Day and night he must strenuously exert himself to conquer his senses; for he (alone) who has conquered his own senses, can keep his subjects in obedience.

45. Let him carefully shun the ten vices, springing from love of pleasure, and the eight, proceeding from wrath, which (all) end in misery.

46. For a king who is attached to the vices springing from love of pleasure, loses his wealth and his virtue, but (he who is given) to those arising from anger, (loses) even his life.

47. Hunting, gambling, sleeping by day, censoriousness, (excess with) women, drunkenness, (an inordinate love for) dancing, singing, and music, and useless travel are the tenfold set (of vices) springing from love of pleasure.

48. Tale-bearing, violence, treachery, envy, slandering, (unjust) seizure of property, reviling, and assault are the eightfold set (of vices) produced by wrath.

49. That greediness which all wise men declare to be the root even of both these (sets), let him carefully conquer; both sets (of vices) are produced by that.

50. Drinking, dice, women, and hunting, these four (which have been enumerated) in succession, he must know to be the most pernicious in the set that springs from love of pleasure.

51. Doing bodily injury, reviling, and the seizure of property, these three he must know to be the most pernicious in the set produced by wrath.

Yoohooo the list goes on… just hold still and yawn

87. A king who, while he protects his people, is defied by (foes), be they equal in strength, or stronger, or weaker, must not shrink from battle, remembering the duty of Kshatriyas.

102. Let him be ever ready to strike, his prowess constantly displayed, and his secrets constantly concealed, and let him constantly explore the weaknesses of his foe.

103. Of him who is always ready to strike, the whole world stands in awe; let him therefore make all creatures subject to himself even by the employment of force.

104. Let him ever act without guile, and on no account treacherously; carefully guarding himself, let him always fathom the treachery which his foes employ.

105. His enemy must not know his weaknesses, but he must know the weaknesses of his enemy; as the tortoise (hides its limbs), even so let him secure the members (of his government against treachery), let him protect his own weak points.

106. Let him plan his undertakings (patiently meditating) like a heron; like a lion, let him put forth his strength; like a wolf, let him snatch (his prey); like a hare, let him double in retreat.

169. When (the king) knows (that) at some future time his superiority (is) certain, and (that) at the time present (he will suffer) little injury, then let him have recourse to peaceful measures.

170. But when he thinks all his subjects to be exceedingly contented, and (that he) himself (is) most exalted (in power), then let him make war.

171. When he knows his own army to be cheerful in disposition and strong, and (that) of his enemy the reverse, then let him march against his foe.

172. But if he is very weak in chariots and beasts of burden and in troops, then let him carefully sit quiet, gradually conciliating his foes.

173. When the king knows the enemy to be stronger in every respect, then let him divide his army and thus achieve his purpose.

174. But when he is very easily assailable by the forces of the enemy, then let him quickly seek refuge with a righteous, powerful king.

198. He should (however) try to conquer his foes by conciliation, by (well-applied) gifts, and by creating dissension, used either separately or conjointly, never by fighting, (if it can be avoided.)

Now we can safely assure ourselves of the following facts from the quotes above.

1)      The author is quoting from very well renowned verses in the Vedic literature which is the traditional literature of the Hindus.

2)      One should not strain the nation’s revenues simply because one has been harshly dealt with on one occasion.

3)      No doubt punishment protects everyone, but it must be inflicted by a King who is loyal to the religious dictum.

4)      The king should purge himself of the various vices otherwise his estimation of what is right and wrong will be perjury.

5)      The king should be very capable in warfare, capable of protecting his troops and himself, capable of keeping his own counsel etc.

6)      This line explains a lot. So I just quote it. 106. Let him plan his undertakings (patiently meditating) like a heron; like a lion, let him put forth his strength; like a wolf, let him snatch (his prey); like a hare, let him double in retreat.

7)      Now the real point of so much explanation is that the king wages war only when he knows that he is likely to win. When victory is not assured he should at least take the shelter of a more powerful king.

8)      In other words we should imply war only when we are sure of victory, otherwise we should just marshal our forces and brace ourselves for whatever destiny has in store. If we become adjective oriented and herald a war which can be avoided with some diplomacy then we are stoning ourselves.

Now something that I would like to get back to with some purpose. Very often war is because I and my neighbor are ill at odds with what we have. In this world everyone cannot have everything. But we all can have sufficient to meet our regular needs and be prosperous in whatever way we want and can. Thus envy is the natural insight of the tardy. That is why confrontation provokes something like mirth in the minds of thinkers who know that the flesh we cherish will ultimately be stool or ashes. Even if one party is belligerent it makes a lot of sense to be patient and forbearing for that is more precious than heaven. Our gods or God Himself is most pleased with one who is willing to overlook his personal pleasures for the happiness of many, one willing to work without worrying about personal gain, etc and only when one qualifies himself with such qualities do the gods or God Himself become benign with their dependents. Otherwise India with all its rich culture and religiosity was dominated by foreign legions for nearly a thousand years. Many temples were simply impaired and libraries demolished.

If economical instability is the cause of war then it can be attended to by careful diplomatic means. From our situation we are fairly even about the point that we are not out to conquer huge territories of land protected by formidable armies. If a powerful neighbor is a little agitated does it harm us as cogent individuals to reach a reconciliation. May be they just want a little bit more money for the goods they supply and maybe a thank you.

Finally we come down to what all this implies. Whenever the author feels uncomfortable someone seems to suggest why doesn’t he go to the war and die or live as a messiah. Wars are fought by legends…. Why don’t I become one. This seems to me to be quite interesting because it seems that in all lands, they who are religious and righteous are easily inducted into the army and easily they are sent as frontline challengers of the enemy and then Nostradamus need not be called up to find out what happens next. If a person seems very determined to achieve something determined in life the armed forces seems the best way. So… the more you become religious, the more you end up on the enemy frontier facing bullets. Somehow it seems that the national leaders of any land…. whichever land or religion it may be, they like to send those with religious zeal to the warfront to fight war after war. Basically if you are religious you get to die an early death.

Now one might be stunned to hear this statement…. Why should the believers in here and hereafter have to be hastened to death. One answer is that they (the believers) want to go to heaven and thus they get to die and meet their Maker as fast as they could. Another is, the world likes bozo…. you know, the type of men and women who like to spice up life…. The religious genre of personalities either join bozo to become one of them or they just stand out like a…. like a standing out thing…. Because they know that their maker desires them to be chaste to Him morning, evening and night. And bozo is far more ambitious…. Bozo likes to drink blood for health keeping purposes. Bozo likes to party late into the night. Bozo likes to drink to his ambitions. Bozo likes to flood the market with products, 99% of which we don’t need (if we are in on our senses). Bozo likes to route the environment with inimical gaseous substances. Bozo likes to keep our minds surcharged by aggression and depressed by inflation. And bozo likes to challenge fate. Once one wins the challenge against fate one need not fear the Almighty one for the latter has already forsaken the battlefield. Once God has run away who… who can challenge the great BOZO. So life is such that the people in general prefer Lucifer to God, because Lucifer is more memorable than God. Lucifer can give us the time of our life whereas God can chain us up in our own determinations.

Thus all these wars somehow point out… at least in recent times, that the religiously staunch, struggle to find a toehold, because those otherwise inclined like to get rid of them so that the latter don’t trouble them when the time arrives to live it up. That is why so much maneuvering is done, so much arrangements are made, all over the world to put religion in its place. God is someone we need when we are in need of solace otherwise we prefer to wave Him away to the background. Even as the author writes he struggles with baser dimensions of existence and the intimation is that the avenue to a liberal life is only widening. Lucifer and Lucy beckon so generously whereas the altitude at which God is available involves a steep climb.

So the final question is that what does one do? Does one chase oneself away from all the happiness planned throughout the week, month and year. When the wine flows freely and chance seems subdued by might of reason what does a man of worth chose to do and why ought he have to repent. The answer is difficult to give. Especially if you are going to decide on the spot. One ought to have a notebook where one writes down what are the choices one should make in life and why. Thus grace should replace greed and coke should replace wine. The price of one commodity over another is what one should be willing to pay if one is willing to do what is best for him or her.

Thus WAR is the last thing that a developing nation should herald because of behavior lacking in caution. We are slowly but surely building our roads and highways and skyscrapers and stadiums and granaries and even movie theatres. Should we chance it all because I have to insist that an OFFICIALLY atheistic regime is subject to the wrath of the gods? We do not really know how cultured the Chinese actually are. Every culture has a constellation or a heaven which takes care of it. The Chinese officials might have to take a perjorative view of heaven and its gods because such was the thought process of their great leaders, but if you take one of them aside and ask…. “Sir do you think that if you do good you will get good and if you do bad you will get bad“ ,…what do you think they will say?

That means all mature men believe in the law of karma and the forces which back such enforcement, whether they believe in a heaven or not. The communist officiant may not remember his heaven but he can be reminded about it.  Ancient Chinese art, architecture, music, medicine, religion, logic, inventions, military sense etc are some of the best and people continue to be amazed. Despite the glitz of Chinese economy, they are actually, somewhat weak because they are not able to officially come to terms with their glorious past and the heavens associated with it, which incidentally Indians are not struggling with having rejected, an indifferent approach to our cultural heritage.

Actually communism in Russia was toppled when their leaders realized that it was not the best way to go about doing things. Thus communism in China can also be dissipated if we are gentle and thus point out the drawback of a life which is bleak, because that is what an atheistic life is. Russians were the most powerful nation in the world economically, military wise, in space, in sports etc, yet the Russians themselves (along with their presidents) rooted for a  government which would bypass the cruel ways of injustice and dogma that life was none to be seen beyond a group of chemicals.

Thus since by nature we have a maker we need to just remind the forgetful neighbor of this fact…. “O neighbor in all the busy activities you attempt, you seem to forget that your Maker is affectionate to you, and hopes against hope that you will also be affectionate to Him. When you do so a whole new world opens out to you and to those you are affectionate to”. When we reaffirm our spiritual ideals we lead a progressive life and this the leaders of a great nation like China need to know, for the benefit of the world. We do not need to allow millions of deaths and billions in property loss. May we just need to re address the situation.

Why don’t we know the future?

Why don’t we know the future?
The above statement seems very odd at first sight but in the light of modern science it is a rather interesting venture. According to the laws of physics the equations of motion are time reversible or independent of the direction of the flow of time. In other words if an empty  glass can fall off a table and break into many pieces it can also reassemble and rise and situate itself back on the table. Thus ideally we should be able to reverse the state of things, however what fortunately prevents this, is, yet another law, the second law of thermodynamics. This law says that the disorder of the universe or of an isolated system only increases with the flow of time. Thus if we are conforming to the second law we can only conclude that the empty glass is more likely to break than reassemble. Although the breaking of the glass and its assembling itself together can both happen, the inevitability of the former over the latter is likely. In other words we need to conclude that although equations of motion are time reversible, the law of entropy forbids us from being too confident of undoing things that have already been done.

Thus we come to some acclimatization to this understanding and that is with how much certainty can we know about the future? In weather forecasting systems we can only forecast so much because the entropy law induces chaotic features in the predictions. Thus the forecasting is not so well supported always by actual events.

Recently, in the country of India we get to see similar chaos prevail in the support of the government by the student community. The Indian government has come up with two statutes very recently. The media and the metropolises are raging with gunfire over these two laws and what they seem to imply about the future of  the nation. As a very profound religious teacher and scholar in recent times pointed out very recently the two laws are two separate and distinct pieces of literature. Unfortunately, the media, and those who league themselves in terms of what they presume from the former are so impressed as to how two laws have been handed down to the nation, simultaneously, and seem so convinced that the two laws are diabolically linked to each other, and, will inevitably, lead to administrative mal-practice towards a religious minority, that it is heart rendering.
Is the government not allowed to come up with two or five or twenty laws and every time they do, do the educated elite have to immediately assume that there is some amount of forgery involved whereby the government is conniving to arrive at a malpractice? The two laws are distinct and they are worded very individually and differently.
There have been two legal statements one known as the CAA and the other NRC.  Lets hear from a national newspaper what these two have to say:

What is NRC? (National Register of Citizens)
NRC is the National Register of Citizens. The NRC identified illegal immigrants from Assam on the Supreme Court's order. This has been a state-specific exercise to keep its ethnic uniqueness unaltered. But ever since its implementation, there has been a growing demand for its nationwide implementation. Now, many top BJP leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah have proposed that the NRC in Assam be implemented across India. It effectively suggests bringing in a legislation that will enable the government to identify infiltrators who have been living in India illegally, detain them and deport them to where they came from.

What is the CAA? (Citizenship Amendment Act)
According to the CAA, Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh and Parsi migrants who have entered India illegally-that is, without a visa-on or before December 31, 2014 from the Muslim-majority countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and have stayed in the country for five years, are eligible to apply for Indian citizenship.

Why is the provision extended only to people of six religions, and not Muslims, and why does it apply only to people coming from these three countries?
The Union government claims that people of these six faiths have faced persecution in these three Islamic countries, Muslims haven't. It is, therefore, India's moral obligation to provide them shelter.

Here are the understandings that evolve from the above:
-         The CAA is just an amendment of an act that was already there.
-         India is a nation fighting terrorism all over its geography. There are Hindu Muslim riots almost every year.
-         India is a Hindu majority nation. Staunch Hindus would like some opportunity to practice their religious duties without having to hear blood curdling screams of beings they consider as sacred, like cows coming from somewhere nearby.
-         There are plenty of examples to show that the cows are considered sacred in the Abrahamic faiths and also in oriental religions like Buddhism, Jainism etc. We do not really know why other religions don’t insist on the preservation of this animal but we as Hindus demand some opportunity in terms of land and preservation rights to worship what we have considered sacred for thousands of years. Hindus have worshipped the cows as sacred even when under foreign rule. A hindu eating cow’s meat would be considered an outcaste. Hindus have paid taxes as inferior citizens in their own nation just so that they can go on without violating their rituals. Now as a free nation, Hindus would like to preserve what they have held on to for so many unyielding years. Since Hinduism had its origin in India, Indian Hindus would like to preserve what they can of their culture and heritage. As more and more people tune in we are finding that the Hindu or rather Vedic culture had many contributions to make in terms of architecture, mathematics, yoga, medicine, astronomy, ecology and fuel functions, philosophy, the human mind and its nature, administration, the cloth industry, a systematization of language, non violence and so on. Thus if we preserve our culture we stand to benefit ourselves and the world at large. If a person just wants to eat meat there are a whole lot of options out there and one need to utilize any one or any other combinations to satisfy the  sense of taste. As per our religious leaders we can slaughter the buffalo, or any such animal that can be domesticated easily. If you go to the zoo you will know that there are many animals which can be held on to in a domestic way and which can be later slaughtered for the taste of their flesh. There are rabbits, deer, giraffes, zebras, horses, antelopes, gazelles, bison… even elephants can be chained and eaten later. The cows are considered pious. The stool and urine of the cow have many curative or antiseptic properties and along with ghee, milk and butter contribute to ideological benefits as well. Lacto vegetarian diets are preferred by all religions preferring the diligence of non violence. Hindus need their cows and the cows need the Hindus. The cow is venerated as a mother and the bull is used to till the soil and thought of as the father.  Our ancestors used to utilize two bulls to plough the land and neo Darwinists are yet to come up with a better sense of symmetry.
-         The NRC is just a requirement of a systematization of knowledge of who is who and where do they stay and what do they do etc. It simply implies a data bank which can be very effectively used to counter terrorism, other types of crimes, public utility services like finding where we’ll find a doctor or a rice mill etc. A data bank is something that can always be used to do a variety of useful activities like building hospitals or educational institutions or anything where it is necessary to have an idea of who is available for what and where.
-         The CAA is an amendment which simply says that persecuted minorities from three neighboring countries are eligible to be granted the status of a refugee. From Muslim majority countries you wouldn’t expect Muslims to be persecuted. Unfortunately some Muslims are, like the Amides, and they can find citizenship in many other countries many of which offer Muslims legal ids as priority-one citizens. If the government is embarrassed about saying that yes we are afraid of Muslims because we really do not know where there integrity is even though they may stay in India, are they potential terrorists or actual terrorists,  then it (the Indian govt) is NOT to be really blamed. This is NOT, NOT, NOT the case of discrimination against any religion or scripture or a man of God. It is just the socio-economic situation prevailing in India and neighboring countries for some time and maybe the Indian government is just trying to counter this situation in a forthright way… The Quran is not a security threat to Indians, but during Hindu, Muslim riots, Muslims riot against Hindus. If the Muslims seem less fundamental about their socio legal rights to kill or mistreat our religious representations like cows and less inclined to raise weapons against their neighbors, the Hindus, the government might just feel more inclined to be more impartial. If a terrorist organization is looking for a potential terrorist then if they are able to speak more easily to a Muslim than to someone from another community…. what can the government do but just feel uncomfortable and… apologetic.
-          Simply because the present ruling party is inclined to think favorably about our Hindu heritage they are being axiomatically accused of trying to criticize a religious minority. If I own an Audi car then I can like no other car or any other person owning another type of car… this kind of reasoning can be confusingly condemning. If the ruling party wants to represent the cultural values of a vast majority of Indians, it is just a party policy not a crime.
-         To empathize one can see that there are quite a number of reasons to represent Hindu culture. Although Hinduism is arguably the oldest religion it was reeling under foreign rule for over a thousand years. Many of its customs were subjected to sacrilege and desecration rites were profoundly performed. Millions of Hindu people converted to another religion because of persecution by the State. Although India recovered its freedom in 1947 the then Indian Prime Minister said that the industries of India would be the modern temples of the same. There were partition wars where millions were killed… over religion. The author remembers how during his school days the representation of Hindu culture was symptomatized by the feelings that the foreigners ruled over us because they were superior to us in every possible way… by standards of beauty, intelligence, by standards of physical as well as psychological strength etc. The roads of India where unclean, and our poverty levels as well as educational serfdom, still seem to hide that the Hindu way of existing was quite advanced. We keep enduring the feelings that Indian women wearing saris are backward in contemplation as compared to those belonging to western cultures. A man wearing a dhoti would be rarely seen on a public thoroughfare in central or northern India. The outpourings of the sage, millennia ago seem to make no sense and no sensibility. Under the present government, Indians have excelled in sports, in economical standards, and in other ways which could be indicative of the fact that Hindus are taking their cultural impetuses seriously and being inspired about life. Other governments have also helped us feel enthused about our nationality and have fostered brotherhood among antagonistic communities. But the Vedic culture was being slowly forgotten and in fact the number of people proficient in knowing the Sanskrit language had reduced to an all time low….

To conclude the author would like to affirm that this treatise is not discouraging a government or a religion. All the personalities who have ruled over India were famous and capable personalities and some have even staked their lives…. Similarly Abrahamic religions are also beautifully expressing the encouragement of a Divine which fosters beautiful living, and righteous deeds. However, disorder creeps into the best of systems as it did in the past and that causes degeneration of an orderly establishment. Thus some housekeeping done by the national leaders while following the constitutional laws and the laws of humanity should not seem too appalling. What is appalling is that those of us who venerate the Vedic literatures seem to deserve having our ears clipped off on the charges of polytheism, idolatory, pantheism, monism, voidism etc. While dealing with these charges will have to consume another sitting, one can at least appreciate that before you clip the ears off, of a human being, give him a chance to present to you in his grandeur what measure of a heathen he actually is. Then the ears are yours .... to clip. But you must allow the supposed heathen to make a case because he says that the books he venerates seem to boasts of over four lakh verses and one who has studied the literature under an able guide can not but help see a beautiful synthesis which is not so observable to an outsider. An infinitely powerful being might just have multiple synthesizing features which takes some cumulative understanding to appreciate.

Addendum

I sometimes play the inconoclast and pen lines to manicure the morbid. I have an addendum to these lines. I wrote these lines when I was more melancholic than I usually am. So there is some clarification needed. Although I think I have lived only half my life I think I have arrived at some conclusions which I think are reasonably informative. Actually quite important I feel. This is regarding the status of the teacher who teaches us about life. I have taken lessons in mantras, performance of rituals, theistic perceptions, religious diet (a lot), sensory restraint and similar topics from a few teachers and I have found that these lessons do invigorate our existential possibilities i.e. life’s quotient. While the spiritual teacher does help us walk the road to reality, he also does warn us about the possible mistakes along the way. This is where I tended to ignore the warnings of my teachers and marched unperturbed into modes of behavior which made me face daunting situations thinking that these techniques that enhanced my capabilities would allow me to come through, without being broken hearted. But through a bit of a trial of, and by, but not for… error,  I have been able to see that while the spiritual teacher tells us about the great possibilities that life offers, he DOES emphasize that progress is systematic, and practical. His warnings ought to be heeded with veneration. Life is too good a commodity to leave at the mercy of chance behavior. In all the cultures of the world the veneration of the teacher is considered a very advanced mode of behavior, a gesture of great value, and a exalted principle to live by. And just as the encouragement of the teacher is priceless, so is his discouragement worthy. Having ignored these values I encountered a few blows in life which left me a little breathless. Actually it was the wisdom of the wise confirming their injunctions. So the feelings of malnutrition are more to do with my sledging heart which confirms that life is priceless,…  so the kidney should stay in place…and the liver… maybe because the Giver has given them to us not to chance them but to lead a charmed life.

A word about reform. This is my perception. There is a lot of opportunity to reform the world among not just human beings but even among antelopes and bears and mango trees. These is scientific evidence to establish that this cosmos beats unanimously. Those who are trying to reform themselves and help others improve, deserve our appreciation… at least. A picture perfect world is difficult to see and those doing good work are doing good work. They are NOT our enemies…  even if they may not be the gods from heaven (of course I am not so confident)…they are really nice, decent people even if they appear to have failings. So in a world where over twenty thousand children die EACH year due to poverty, if a particular saint is talking less about God and more about the dying immortals in the kingdom of God does he become too irreligious? I can confirm quite heartily that according to the religions of the world the greatest mode of religion is doing good to others. It behooves us to be polite in our perceptions when judging those who are overworking themselves to benefit the world. The names of the ultimate reality differ in different religions. However by some odd stroke of fate they all ask us to help those in pain, irrespective of their faith. So while religious organizations do differ a lot in their philosophical approach they all do reach out to those who are needing to be comforted due to irreconcilable emotions…. In fact I have to acknowledge that there are organizations which do bend over backwards to avoid being termed religious but they are religious about healing a painful fever, or a dislocated charm not just in one case but all over the world. So in veneration to all who dedicate themselves to the religion of extending a helping hand I congratulate them loudly, emphatically, and consider myself fortunate to be able to do so.  In a world where three billion people live below the poverty line there is little reason to doubt that good men who can transform the destinies of people are rare, and those who do try even if with failings have opened themselves to perceiving the world as a place to serve rather than be severe. There is enough quarrel all over the world over who deserves to rule a particular tract of land and inevitably whoever gets to rule fails to be selfless. These men and women who have dedicated themselves to Goodness, do succeed. I deserve their blessings.
